"Vistas Del Lago is a great community with an amazing view of Lake Arenal and the mountain. The house was as presented on line, nice accommodation for 6, though there were only 4 of us. Our only issues resulted from late season rain and storms -- unreliable internet and washed out roads/landslides."

"My husband and I stayed in the wonderful Royal Coop Suite at the Casa Donna Rosa Bed and Breakfast. We felt like royalty between the stunning accommodations and the attentive host. They were very accommodating to my dietary restrictions but also made delicious breakfast for my husband. To top it off they provided bananas to attract tropical birds to the porch of our room. Carlos and Werner know how to do things right. "

"The check in process was fantastic. Easy to communicate with the owner. The house was very clean, very well setup, and close to town for food and drinks. The owners recommendation for food places were fantastic. The little bakery in town in fantastic, and the German Cafe was amazing. Now for the views. Holy smokes! They were amazing! The lake is beautiful and can be seen from both floors. Nice and quiet at night with a nice cool breeze for cooling the house off at night. The pool is a perfect place to cool off at night. And the big dining room table hosted a fun game night for the family. Can't say enough about the house, views, and fantastic host. Thank you all so much for letting us into your home for our family vacation to Costa Rica! Pura Vida. "

"The property had amazing views. The best part was waking up in the morning to the sound of birds and other wild life and having chef prepared breakfast :) Some reviews did mention the bugs: you're in nature; it's expected and you get used to it and they do have pest control. No AC, but they provided fans and it was comfortable. Place is MUCH larger than the pictures. Highly recommend hiring James to cook for you!! We had him prepare breakfast daily! He's amazing and it makes getting started with your day easier. Home has washer & Dryer. Was a life saver on the rainy day adventures we had. The drive to town or to any attractions is about 30-35 minutes through narrow, windy mountain roads, and it dark at 5:30, so keep that in mind. We were not prepared and I may have selected somewhere closer to 'town' for our first visit to the La Fortuna area in order to explore La Fortuna, which we didn't get a chance to do. Also, getting up to the home isn't as bad as some reviews said (IMO). It was raining and dark when we arrived; we had a 9 passenger VAN, and while we did struggle for a second, we made it up. It's only the first time up that's a bit daunting. Overall, we were very happy and it was worth it for size of home and VIEWS and I would definitely stay there again and explore the area more. FYI: There are a few small restaurants just down the main driveway from home as well as a small market, that surprising had everything we needed; even medication. "

Not only was he there to help with the house but he and Celeste gave great recommendations on tours and even local restaurants. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!"
