"The owner was very responsive and helpful. He gave us advice on restaurants things to do in the area and how to get places. Everything he recommended was the best and spot on. It was a very authentic and comfortable house with everything you’d need. There were 3 twin beds, one queen and a couch that made to a twin so plenty of room for 6. The kitchen had a cooktop, fridge coffee maker, pots and pans dishes mugs glasses knifes everything you’d need to cook. He even left us fresh coconuts with sweet water and meat that we enjoyed immensely! "

"I stayed at the Casa Descanso with a group of eleven friends, and it is truly a beautiful place. We loved the outdoor spaces, the ambiance, the pool, and Marta, the incredibly helpful and warm housekeeper. The interior of the house is fully equipped, the upstairs bathrooms are a little dorm-y but sufficient, but the overall location and charm of this place was amazing. The pictures don't fully describe how lovely it was. Marta was super helpful; despite my lame Spanish, she was able to get us a reservation to a restaurant that we couldn't get in touch with, helped our friends book a last minute river float, and brought us fresh eggs and bananas in the morning. We missed this place after we moved on. I highly recommend it. "

"This house has the potential to be amazing however, the listing is not an accurate display of how the house is currently maintained. The gardens are all overgrown and there is a swamp in the backyard that is infested with mosquitoes. The house has rotten floors with holes throughout and places where you think you may fall through the floor.Pool area was not as listed. It looks like the pictures were taken more than 10 years ago and the house has not been properly maintained. The road noise was listed in the description. However, the realistic expectation should be the road noise is so loud that it shakes the house at times. We booked this house for two nights and only ended up staying for one. The check-in process was a disaster and the agency did not listen to me as far as not having a keypad to enter the property. It took us over an hour to enter the property And we were only successful because my husband found a way around the gate to open it from the inside. I was very disappointed in this house as I was looking forward to the uniqueness it offered in the beautiful gardens."
