"Very nice, friendly - some might say quirky - hosts who made us feel very welcome and were great company. They helped us deal with a booking issue with no fuss. The pub itself is a little gem with a great selection of real ales, whiskies, and of course, rum. Appetising food, if you like authentic Caribbean fare. "Good location for us half a hour from the ferry port. Room size ok for us. Overall the room was a bit tired and could benefit from an update. The items we noted were:- One failed and one failing light bulb on the main light made the room a bit dim. Wobbly toilet seat Plug in the washbasin was not attached and was difficult to use. "We had an excellent lunchtime meal at the restaurant then went out for the rest of the day. Arrived back to our rooms around 11pm for the night. Some of the lights didn’t work and the bedroom and bathroom were somewhat dated and in need of refurbishment. The bed was very comfy though. No breakfast available but drink making facilities in the room. "

"This was like staying with friends for a smart weekend in the country. Ann gave us a guided tour, and later showed me round her hi-tech greenhouse when I expressed an interest. The house and garden are fabulous, our room was huge and elegant with a big comfortable bed and a walk-in rainfall shower. "The hotel and grounds itself are very beautiful with modern decor. The breakfast was a good selection and the bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. Check-in was quick and easy and we received a quick tour of the hotel. The local knowledge could have been better, when we asked for a local restaurant recommendation we didnt expect to be referred to a chain restaurant, we did go for a walk and settle on a local Thai restaurant.
