"After reading some of the negative reviews we were very pleasantly surprised. Staff were helpful and attentive and actually went above and beyond. Overall the property is a little dated and and in one of our rooms the tv wasn't working properly and in another the the lightbulbs needed replacing but it's clean, the beds are comfy and it's close to town. Would definitely stay here again."

"Just come home from using this property as a pit stop on my trip. Host was very friendly and welcoming. Took care of my needs when i explained. My room had all i needed. The bed was so comfty. I didn't want to get up. Breakfast was lovely too. Nice shirt walk to town. Perfect. Only one little thing i would say, which can be amended. Is cold draft coming from under the door. So maybe a draft cushion or a flap fitted to bottom of the door to stop all the warmth getting out and cold coming in....

"We had a lovely stay at Kirkgate House, we needed to book last minute and the hosts were accommodating and very kind. The location was excellent and we enjoyed breakfast. Knaresborough is beautiful, we would definitely visit again and stay at Kirkgate. "

"A great welcome by Karen into their stunning home with tea and biscuits in the residents sitting room! Our bedroom was very well furnished and excellent taste in decor with pieces of antique furniture. Very comfortable bed, super large bathroom with amenities. Wonderful breakfast selection in an amazing dining room… the Cornmill is a unique and fascinating property with the mill water wheel on show through a secure glass viewing area! What is no5 to love?!!"

"Had a nice stay at this hotel, a bit hard to find hidden behind the corner shop and the parking leaves something to be desired. But the room was nice and was greeted in a friendly manner. Good range of breakfast options I couldn't fully explore but did enjoy my fresh cooked full English. "
