"When we arrived at the lodge we were supposed to be staying in there was another family there who said the lodge they were supposed to be staying in was occupied so they were given this lodge. We rang the contact number and he apologised, we were provided the key code for another lodge and when i opened the door that was occupied as there was a dog in there. "Immaculate beautiful surroundings.. take bird seed.. loads of beautiful birds and saw a woodpecker.. the log burner was fab .. highly recommend "

"Lodge was adequate for our needs as a base for two day trips to Alton Towers. Bedrooms and Bathrooms were great but the living areas and kitchen need some upgrades as the sofas and dining chairs very uncomfortable due to over use. The kitchen was adequate - however the hob didn’t work the oven wasn’t easy to use and there was a dishwasher which was listed so we didn’t bring tablets for that and don’t expect to find a dish cloth to clean or wash dishes."

"I am impressed with the level of cleanliness within the apartment and the room I stayed in. It was also easy to self chekin. Two things I wasn't particularly impressed about were: 1. the stairs leading up to the apartment looked really untidy, greatly contrasting with the neatness within the apartment. 2. Superb

"Superb stay from start to finish. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and met expectations. Staff were friendly and chatty. I ordered sandwiches for lunch to take away and whilst it was ok, the container the sandwiches were put into didn’t keep it fresh and the bread was stale by the time it was ate. I’d be happy to stay again. "

"The hotel was really nice and the outdoor heated pool was a real treat even in March. We didnt have any treatments as we were only there to enjoy 1 evening child free but what we did see of the spa treatments and the facilities were very good. The location of the hotel was perfect and next to lots of good restaurants that were within 1 minute walk. Thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and Buxton in general. We will be back"

"Nice hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. The building has character. Room is clean. Walls are thin and I’ve been able to hear the man next door snoring, and now their dogs barking and whining. Apart from that all has been okay. Parking was easy to find using the postcode provided for it by the hotel. "

"The hotel looked tired but it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice for all tastes. The pool and jacuzzi were an added bonus. "
