"I am very through when it comes to trips. If you are a solo traveler or even looking for a family vacation . This is a good place to stay. Pros: - The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. Even the workers fixing up the hotel. Easy to show you where to go if needed. - It is safe ! The resort is gated and there is security that checks cars and vans coming in and out. I saw a comment about someone losing money from their room. The resorts’ gate security checks employees belongings before leaving work. - Food choices are pretty good for all inclusive. They have an omelette bar in the mornings where you can pick your choice of fixings for the cook to make. So yummy !! - I did not book excursions prior to my trip because I felt I would get better deals at the resort and I did !! There are different companies at the resorts that offer many excursions. I went on the volcano sight seeing / hike with a mud bath . It was an experience I will never forget. - Souvenirs: The resort has amazing shops to buy souvenirs, however I love how the local merchants were allowed on the resort on the beach. You are able to negotiate prices with them. Some can be more aggressive to sell than others. Con’s: There’s no true nightlife at the resorts, except a mini club on the outskirts and the shows the resorts have a 9pm nightly. - BUGS ! I made sure to lock my screen door at night because the creatures come out at night. I still ended with a beetle in my room. Overall a good vacay spot "

"Gorgeous location. Fabulous hotel, restaurant, pool. Small and very quiet. Jungle setting, suburb views. But - not on beach if that is important to you. Difficult 15 minute walk (although there is a shuttle) and no beach amenities like chairs. Fabulous long quiet beach though "

"I loved this resort! 1. The food was great for resort food 2. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. 3. We always felt safe even at night 4. The resort was full of monkeys, iguanas, macaws, birds 5. Lots of entertainment for kids The only downside was the beach. Don’t go here For the beach. It’s pretty and the view is great but the locals bug you to get massages as soon as you step foot on the sand and the current is strong I would go back and recommend this place every time. "

"Our stay at the JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort was nothing short of perfect! The property was beautiful & well maintained, the staff was friendly, the food was delicious, & the excursions were well organized & fun. Our room was cleaned & restocked to perfection each day & we were so happy we’d thought to reserve a room with an ocean-facing balcony. Each night, the sunset was an event not to be missed! In addition, the serpentine, infinity pool was large enough to provide guests with varying levels of enjoyment. A water volleyball game at one end of the pool went unnoticed by guests looking for quiet relaxation in another area. Over the course of our week-long stay, we got to experience the warmth & friendly service of the resort staff. We looked forward to being greeted each day by hostess, Karen, who greeted us by name & easily recalled our dining preferences. In addition, Josue and Gustavo, stand out for their exceptional service & sincere interest in our comfort & enjoyment of the property’s many amenities.
