"Lovely hotel that is ideally situated in a lovely square with cafes and restaurants within easy reach of the main town. Good facilities and it is worth having a castle view room. Good choice at breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and hot choices. Staff are friendly and helpful and went above and beyond for my 60th Birthday stay especially Alistair on Reception. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if visiting Edinburgh. "

"The Mercure in Edinburgh was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and attentive. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant, so I’m unable to comment. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint would be that the wifi didn’t work, especially in the rooms. My colleague had the same issue in his room, which was on a different floor. "
