"Great stay, the kids loved it. We'd read some reviews so were a little unsure what to expect, but we were really happy with our room and the entertainment for the kids. We went during UK Easter holidays and it wasn't too busy, maybe Australia schools hadn't broken up yet. And there were clear signs of investing and improving the place. We loved it. "

"We initially were staying in a Deluxe King room, which was neat, tidy, cozy, and clean. The Island gave directions for parking (across tram railway and in the side alley) and reception was easy to find, and service was very friendly and professional. There was a technical issue with the toilet in this room, which can happen anywhere at any time, and after speaking with reception, we were upgraded to the King Suite room free of charge (that's really great service, they could have easily put us in a room of the same time, but upgraded us instead for the inconvenience). The King Suite was spacious, clean, modern, and a bigger version of the Deluxe King room, with a complete kitchennette, bathroom etc, and we had the views we were hoping to get. All round, we had a fantastic stay, and they even let us leave the car in the carpark a little bit longer after check out so we could go do some shopping and get some food before coming back home, which another hotel would not allow us to do without charging us $30, so it was really nice and very professional for The Island to do this for us. All round, we rate this above anything else we have stayed at so far. Cheap prices, amazing rooms, amazing service, safe area, nice facilities...all round, a gem in the heart of Surfers. We will absolutely be staying here again, 10/10. Thank you to the amazing staff who work here who helped make this place even more awesome, you rock! "
