"This hotel has an amazing history and needs to be supported so it can be preserved. Our room was a really good size (triple) and had a separate dressing area. The breakfast was excellent value. The bathroom is due a revamp but was still serviceable. Make sure you check out the piano bar and main stairwells."

"For the price we paid we didn't expect much to be honest. And at around £77 per night for a room with sea views we got an ok shower (warm water, poor water pressure) a large bed (mattress has seen a few years) and sparse furniture which suited us fine. It was very windy which meant we had quite the draft from the single pane windows however there wasn't a lot of traffic coming through. Service was ok, not friendly, not unfriendly. Breakfast simple, coffee overpriced. "

"Astonishing house, so much to look at. The whole place felt authentically Victorian, oozing character. We loved the open fire at breakfast. Breakfast was very special, the food and the various serving pieces. This definitely felt like time travel. Would highly recommend, especially to history enthusiasts. "Staff were friendly and the property itself exudes vintage elegance. Unfortunately our room (Room 5 on ground floor) smelt extremely strongly of damp, so we didn't unpack any belongings. Despite opening windows and airing the room, there remained a very strong smell. There is obviously a long-term damp problem with this room which the owners should really get fixed."

"By far the worst caravan pri we have ever stayed on it is definitely a OAP’s holiday site you get nothing but uncomfortable looks from other residents walking there dogs there is no facilities what so ever on site myself and my husband left with bad backs and necks due to the very hard cheap beds and pillows you could not pay us to ever visit this place again it was awful"
