"The staff was friendly and well knowledgeable about the activities near Miramar. And made suggestions about their favorite beaches and restaurants. Also there was a Cafe near by with excellent coffee."

"The one thing they really need to do is update the bathrooms here. Ours was old kinda had some rust stains, so the bathrooms are in need of updating all around. The AC also could be better suited to the rooms. The bunkbed area got warm no matter what temp we kept the room at. Overall good hotel. Just needs some updating here and there "

"Gorgeous landscaping amid twisting, spanish moss dripping live osks, the Effie was outstandibgly welcoming. The staff was remarkably friendly and aimed to please in every situation from arrival each time we left the sight to our final departure, we felt like family. The Baytown Wharf had much to offer from live music to a plethora of restaurant chouces and shopping just a short walk from Effie Hotel. The shuttle service to and from the beach was fantastic as no long waits were necessary. ...

"Everything about our stay was wonderful! We loved the cafe breakfast, being able to walk to the beach easily, the comfortable room. The owners have struck a great balance of being attentive without being fussy. We were pleasantly surprised that we could rent bikes right at the office. We would love to return!"

"The renovations were great in the commons areas but the rooms need to be updated. There was some rust in the metal near the restrooms. The vents and ceiling fans are older. The pool are needs a makeover. So a few minor upgrades would make this property great! "

"Living room furniture should be replaced. It’s worn and not comfortable to use. The same is recommended for master bedroom mattresses. Mattresses have seen their best years. Cheap pillows. “Dollar Store” quality patio chairs. They’re made of thin and cheap plastic. Not safe to sit in. Two of the four chairs were broken. Master toilet flushing was nearly non-functional. "
