"I really enjoyed my stay at HI Santa Monica. The women’s dorm felt safe and clean and welcoming. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was a great bonus! Area is close to a ton of stuff including metro and major bus stops, but walking around late at night as a solo women felt a little uncomfortable."

"The property is a little outdated. The smell of it was definitely old ocean sea water as you enter. The kitchen and common area is also outdated but for the overall price it was well worth it. We had gotten the comfort room and it was on the opposite side of where all the pubs are so it was quiet and we slept through the night. The view of our room was awesome.
