Our only two downsides were the noise from nearby construction and weak internet. The latter proved to be a blessing though in helping us disconnect and relax. "

"Nice, quiet location, easy beach walk to the heart of San Pedro. Friendly staff and beautiful water views made the stay. The rooms are a little dated, but very clean and the mattress on our king was very comfortable. The restaurant and bar had great food and drinks and exceptionally awesome staff. "We loved it here! It was our first time to Belize, and didn't know what to expect or where to stay. We planned 5 nights on Ambergris Caye, but only booked the first 2 nights at Mata Rocks. We thought we could just go to another place if we wanted. We ended up staying all 5 nights here, and it was a great choice. After our first 2 booked nights, a larger room opened up and Brayan offered to upgrade us to the new room at no additional cost. Then for nights 4 and 5, an even better room opened up...

"The casino next door had the bass blaring until 1am. The the patrons gather in the courtyard after closing for the next hour. When the casino was closed ,the staff of the hotel partied until done. I was originally assigned a dorm room but because the wifi wasn't working. And the pool was not functioning as well. Not a good experience for my first visit. Don't send anyone else there. Pleasr "

"Rosie the Office Manager was very helpful with changing our time for the water taxi. Ashanti the bartender made the best dirty banana I have ever enjoyed. Paulina our housekeeper did an excellent job in maintaining the order and cleanness of our room. Mike the maintenance man educated us on the culture of the people of Ambergris Caye and recommended the best restaurants on the island. "
