"Everything about the listing was true. The staff were extremely kind and very responsive! The villa was very clean and everything in it worked perfectly - zero complaints. The only challenge with our visit in very early April was the nonstop wind coming off the ocean and the related sargassum (seaweed) buildup on the beach. The wind was 25-35 mph non-stop the 5 days we were there, which made it impossible to go fishing, scuba diving or really do anything on the water. It was even too windy to really enjoy the pool. I will say that the staff did an admirable job of dealing with the sargassum every morning that accumulated overnight. They spend a few hours shoveling it away - and thank goodness that they did or it really smells bad. The saving grace for us given the wind was that we rented a golf cart and were able to go to the protected Secret Beach area and other parts of the island. It also allowed us to go to the grocery store often (a great new grocery is only 10 min away by golf cart). We also used the cart to explore different restaurants in San Pedro and around the island. Overall, a great trip that was limited slightly by Mother Nature. "

"Our stay at Villa Aurora was very relaxing and peaceful. The caretaker, Jairo, and housekeeper, Vicki, will take care of your every wish. From launching kayaks to shopping for fruit to washing clothes, they do it all. Mike the property manager arranged all of our outings and even greeted us at the airport with our rented golf carts and a luggage cart. He was able to arrange last-minute spa treatments, snorkel outings, and dinner reservations for us. The house was very comfortable and the pool and grounds were beautiful. Overall, a lovely stay. There was a lot of sargassum weed when we were there, so we couldn't swim from the shore. We did swim off the end of the dock. We saw stingrays and lots of fish from the dock, and our snorkel boats picked us up right there so we wouldn't have to go into town. The roof patio was a nice place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Kids enjoyed lots of beach volleyball. "

"This resort is incredible!! My husband and I travel around the world and rarely stay at the same place twice. This was our first time here, and we will definitely come back! The staff went above and beyond in every interaction to make our stay the most memorable, including keeping the kitchen open an extra hour one night to accommodate our schedule getting back to the resort. I’m a big foodie, and the food and drinks are excellent - super fresh ingredients and high-quality preparations. We went to a few restaurants around the island (which were the highest rated), and the meals at Matachica far outshined those. The property is beautiful and a pleasure to relax at. The individual casitas give a feeling of remoteness - while still having 5 star amenities. We were there during the windy/seaweed season, and the resort organized other activities to seaweed-free beaches, including a boat ride to Caye Caulker and a car ride to Secret Beach. What a wonderful addition and great way to explore other areas! (I would also highly recommend renting a golf cart to explore on your own.) I would highly recommend this resort to anyone traveling to Ambergris Caye!!"

"We loved staying at Blue Water Villas. I went with my girlfriend and left with a Fiancé. This mini resort is far from San Pedro if you don’t like extended golf cart rides. We are adventurers and enjoyed every moment of the commute. The maintenance team deserves a huge shoutout. They made a great first impression and even helped with the luggage and gave us pointers and more importantly a laugh or two. They kept the landscaping and amenities at a picturesque level. In our condo, the ocean view was everything we wanted and more. For us, it was the perfect counter balance to the sometimes overwhelming city/ town center that is San Pedro. We will be returning as soon as possible. "

Great location - far enough away from town to be quiet and chill, but there are still plenty of restaurants and groceries within a short ride on the golf cart. The dock looks new, the pool is pleasant, and the grounds are well kept. We might be back!"

"Our extended family stayed in a villa with 5 bedrooms and baths giving us a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the pool and went snorkeling. The staff were very helpful.A wonderful time was had by all."
