"Darren has a nice little place that is in a convenient location for getting to or from the airport to start or end your trip, or even to use as a base for doing day trips. "This is a reasonably priced boutique hotel close to the airport. They offer an airport shuttle for $5 (only leaving from the hotel) and breakfast is available for $11. The hotel works well for a quick overnight stay in San Jose before flying out or when flying back into the country and not wanting to make the long drive home at night. The hotel is behind a tall motorized gate and also within a small cul de sac that is also gated so it feels safe. We did not partake of the breakfast so we can't...

"Our room was very spacious and on the first floor. We even had a balcony at the other end of the room. The pool was small and a disabled person in our party could not get in it because there were no handrails. The setting was up in the mountains north of Alajuela and the air was fresh at night.
