"Such a magical environment, all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Allen’s passion for the forest and animals is contagious and encyclopaedic ; we learned so much. The property is surrounded by beautiful forests in all directions, and you eat breakfast watching hummingbirds and toucans. It’s truly incredible. "Our room was filthy. We got there and keys under mat. Although the owner was in 1 of 4 apts he never told us about housekeeping (there was none) or trash or hoe to operate the outsode washer. He juat said hi. We had to ask for a garbage bag. We were there 7 days and wont do that again. No where to eat unless you take a bus. It was NOT a few minutes walk from beach or anything. The bed uncomfortable and towels stunk. Never again. "

"Hotel Plaza Yara is located in front of the natural vegetation. We had a lovely room and kitchen area was over looking garden and thick jungle type of vegetation. We saw monkey jumping of the roof area. We were very please with the staff response for ur needs etc."

"The staff was great and the property was very nice. The pool was nice, and we had macaws and other birds flying over. It seemed like every cabin had an iguana outside, which was fun. Our room was close to the highway, but this really didn't bother us. We wish we had stayed longer!"

"We loved our stay in Luxury Standard Room 209 at Tulemar. We saw squirrel monkeys daily from our balcony, and toucans, sloths, scarlet macaws, leaf-cutter ants, frogs, bats, and iguanas on the grounds also. The private beach was never crowded, and we appreciated the complimentary umbrellas and chairs, as well as the ability to order food and drinks from Tule Cafe while on the beach. "Carlos ir Charlie is a wonderful host that will go out of his way to make your stay the best yet. With only 5 bungalows to tend to our group had the whole place to ourselves. Beautiful property, comfortable cabin, great hosting - perfect!

"This beautiful log cabin is perched in the hills where the deck catches the mountain breezes. Bring binoculars for birdwatching! We lived on that deck! The air conditioning is once for sleeping, and the kitchen is small but functional. The drive up to the cabin from the main house is very steep, but we made it up without 4 wheel drive since I am used to driving up hills in snow and ice! If you are not, rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Or take the bus (4) or taxi 14) from Quepos. Sheyla is an amazing host and made sure we were comfortable, including bringing up another pot for the kitchen (I cook a lot when we travel). Plus, she knows several guides in the area if you are interested in tours. We will definitely stay here again!"

"Would definitely stay here again. Great layout, great view and overall nice property. Just make sure you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Road to the house can’t be a little tricky."

Villa Mariposa - Peaceful and relaxing w/ocean view & WiFi

Great location. Horrible stay

"I NEVER do any reviews. This was compelling. We had a horrible two night stay. For the entire two days, not a drop of running water!! The host said it could come anytime but he did not know when because it was a ‘water company problem’. He ‘could not do anything about it and “that’s the way it is” he said. There was a hot tub outside, that was thankfully filled. We had to use a bucket to bring water from the Tub to get the toilet flushed. The hot tub had to be connected with an extension wire with an outlet. That allowed the motor to run, but the water never heated. A bunch of electrical outlets were not working. We used the same extension cord by brining it inside the cabin to hook up the laptop etc. The non stick utensils are totally worn out of its non stick surface. "

3 night stay in a beautiful, private jungle escape.

"This place was truly incredible and exactly what we were looking for. There is a private waterfall and swimming area that you HAVE to take advantage of. In addition to the scenic beauty of the entire property they had a very friendly chocolate lab named Elly who came to our villa every day and sat with us for hours. Our host Markus was wonderful and responsive. We had no problem with the WIFI and streamed Netflix in the evenings before bed. If I could have changed anything in all honestly, I would have liked for there to be an air conditioner in the villa. When we were there, it was in the mid 90's every day and after hiking and excursions it would have been nice to cool the room for relief. With that said I would absolutely stay there again!!!!!"

Magical jungle getaway!

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the beautiful, spacious, well equipped home. We loved sipping wine on the deck while spotting monkeys and other visitors. The pool was perfect, and Brian was so incredibly helpful and accommodating! We were sad to say goodbye and hope to be back! **Note the location before booking. It is remote with the closest grocery stores approx 15 minutes away. PERFECT for us as we wanted to cook, and enjoy the feeling of being in the jungle. :). Pura Vida!"
