"Everything about the house is fantastic with great views across Lake Como. The hosts, Danielle and Marco were flgreat and greeted us upon arrival. We were very spoilt with a bottle of bubbly and delicious snacks. The house was a little further out of Varenna than we thought, but we love to walk and we think we left fitter than when we arrived. We would definitely recommend staying at El Lavandee."

"We booked a double room & private bathroom, toiletries, laundry , air conditioning & coffee making facilities. We had to share a bathroom with 2 other apartments , a sofa bed vs a double bed & there were no toiletries & actually no toilet roll, a fan & no air conditioning & no laundry facilities .we also had an issue checking in , initially they had no record of our booking & told us it had been through Expedia ?? We tried to escalate to Hotels.com but they don’t read the emails properly ! "

"Our room had a beautiful lake view. The location was perfectly in the middle of town and walkable to everything. It was clean and the staff was attentive when called. The microwave and tea kettle and some lighting didn’t work. They sent a person to fix the microwave in a few hours. One bathroom upstairs that was tiny for 4 people using it."

"This place was misleading in the description. They did not specify that one of the listed “beds” is actually a blow up mattress. Also very upset that when we booked this placed we were clear that we were traveling with a two month old infant and no one thought to mention that there are three flights of very dangerous outdoor stairs to climb. Very unsafe and disappointing. "

"We spent two days in Varenna and the location was just perfect! The apartment was quite clean and comfortable for our family of four. Both the waterfront and S. Giorgio Piazza were readily accessible. Even in the offseason, there were plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Ettore was a gracious host and easy to communicate with. Ettore’s father was a great help to us and gave us rides to/from the train station! We highly recommend!!"

"Pictures don’t do justice to the view that awaits the renter of this apartment! The lake and the surrounding mountains are stunning. The apartment is nice and comfortable with a great balcony to enjoy the view. I would recommend getting there during the day since it can be a bit tricky at night. Pay attention to the fact that there are 3 flights of steps to climb, but if steps are not a problem, the view is totally worth it!!!"
