"The Tree Cottage in the Rainforest was such a unique and beautiful stay! The property is a bit tucked away with lots of foliage, which added to the rainforest charm. It’s about a 7-minute drive to Volcanoes National Park, making it a great location for exploring.There aren’t many restaurants nearby, and most eateries close by 6 PM, but the cottage has a full kitchen for convenience. There are a few food trucks, but I’d recommend planning meals accordingly. The microwave is tucked under the counter, so keep an eye out for it. The home has all the amenities you could need.My husband put it best: "It’s nice—definitely a vacation rental, not a full-time home, since it’s mostly glass with curtains for privacy. But that just means you get amazing views of the lush rainforest right from inside." A peaceful, one-of-a-kind experience!"

"John, the owner was an awesome host. The property is just minutes away from Volcanos National Park which was very important for us. The area where this place is is very quiet and secluded, perfect for us. I highly recommend this place."

"The volcano house is a very charming hotel. It’s not fancy but it’s what you would expect from a national Park Lodge. The food was excellent in the dining room. Service was great. We had a little wait for dinner, about two hours, but that’s because the volcano had erupted that day, and there were lots of people there. But we finally were able to be squeezed in, and that was without a reservation. The rooms are not fancy, very basic, but very comfortable and have everything you need. There are lots of hiking trails outside on the property. We have the exciting experience of watching Kilauea erupt. There are a couple gift shops and. A visitors center across the street. We had a very nice time."

"I did not realise that we were staying in a plantation village, with multiple accommodation. I had made a request for two beds and, as it was a slow time of year, we got two bedrooms. Pahala is a very cute town (and currently the only one with a grocery store as the one in Naalehu was no longer as at 28 Jan 25). The people were also really friendly. The only thing to consider is the roosters. If you want to sleep in - close the windows. We didn't, as the black sand beach was all ours at sunrise, then came back to Pahala for coffee at the Ka'u Coffee Mill. "

"Convenient Location to Volcano and very beautiful garden. The caretaker Quentin is nice to talk to and also cooks an excellent omelet for breakfast."
