"This home was surrounded by beautiful rain forest. The home is located close to Hawaii Volcano National Park and a short drive from Hilo. The home had everything we needed and the owner was quick to reply. We’d love to stay here again and recommend it for anyone wishing to stay close to the park. "

"We enjoyed Kamaka cabin…the spacious second floor and the loft. The games were very much appreciated… especially since it rained day and night . My only concern the outside light near the stairs going up to the second floor , does not light up. Making it hard to see at night in the dark…we had to use our phones for light . "

"We loved the modern cabin and its amenities. Convenient location only 3 miles from Volcano National Park. Not as secluded as you might think - which could be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for… Neighbors were noisy at times and you can hear highway traffic. But you also hear frogs and birds! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend and would book again! "

"I was amazed how comfortable I felt. It had all the amenities of a higher priced place and was off grid. It was a unique experience and I loved coming home there."

"The place was beautiful and so clean! It was small, but seemed spacious enough and was nice and private. It also had everything you’d need to keep groceries and cook a meal since it’s a bit of a jaunt to “civilization.” Keith was friendly when you’d see him around, but not super responsive to messages. "

"The whole family loved our stay at this cute and cozy cabin in the rainforest. The cabin is well stocked with everything you need and we enjoyed the gas fireplace and the hot tub. The cabin is close to restaurants, a market, and Volcanoes NP. Ten out of ten we recommend!"

"Great communication with the host. We really enjoyed the stay and the beautiful setting. The only recommendation I would make is to have the dehumidifier be self draining, as it got pretty damp unless we were able to empty it at least 3-4 times a day."

"Loved our time at the Jungalow. So close to the park!! Easy to “pop” in… we were fortunate enough to see some actual lava flow/fountaining! We also were blessed with a clear night… seeing the stars from the park is truly incredible. Really appreciated the fireplace and the heaters as it was definitely much cooler than the Kona side. Spent some time on the porch watching the chickens… so fun to watch them interact! "

Secluded spot, large rooms, helpful owner

"The rooms are very large - I could easily have slept in the walk-in closet - and the kitchen on site was very convenient. The hotel is set back quite a ways from the road and the site is quiet. The owner was lovely and let me borrow a garden hose after our rental car got covered in volcano debris - very much appreciated, and definitely above and beyond!"

"Lolahi Lodge exceeded my expectations in every way! Great rooms, comfortable bed, really nice towels, lots of little touches. I highly recommend this as a place to stay while visiting Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park. So close to the entrance. And a wonderful place to end up after a long day of hiking!"

"Loved our time at the Jungalow. So close to the park!! Easy to “pop” in… we were fortunate enough to see some actual lava flow/fountaining!
