"This was perfect for my small group of Year 8 students. There were lots of beds and bedrooms, the house was tidy and spacious and the location was better than we could have imagined. I had a few questions leading up to the camp, as the teacher in charge and Karen was so wonderful at replying quickly. Thank you for helping us to make our Year 8 trip so memorable and perfect! "

"Beautiful property with great views. We loved watching the fireworks from the balcony. It's a short walk... hilly... but short.Cleaning of bathrooms could have been better as I found body hair in the shower that wasnt mine. But overall it was great"

"Lovely location but a challenging hill to walk to and from town. Clean and well maintained property. In the summer months it can be hot especially in the upper bedrooms as there is no air conditioning. Screens on windows would have helped. Really just four real bedrooms and then a room for baby crib. Great parking for two cars. Owners very helpful and accessible. "

"We had all we needed and slept comfortably in this charming historic cottage. Just a hop, skip and a jump from the main drag, we found the neighbourhood quiet. It was an easy walk to the penguins for the adventurous in our party and we were glad for a lift back at night. I was grateful for the thoughtful condiments on offer, and we enjoyed playing Chinese checkers with the kids.We'd happily book again - entry was simple with clear instructions!"

"We stayed for 2 nights with 3 adults and 2 children and it was absolutely perfect! The views were phenomenal :) Highly recommended! Rooms were lovely and clean. Check in/out instructions were very detailed and clear which made things so easy for us. Communication with the owner was easy and he was very attentive to our needs. "

"We loved this location, a few minutes' walk to the wonderful Makarora river braidplain. The house is unique: rustic and a little run down. Comfortable enough if you aren't expecting luxury. Some things could use a little updating (i.e. floors and bath fittings) but all this is secondary to the stunning landscape. We enjoyed our 10 days exploring the area--be sure to check out The Craypot fish and chippie at the end of the road over Haast Pass and the Wilkin Jet Boat tours."
