"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel situated in a nice peaceful tropical garden. The design of the place is really nice, mixing traditional elements to contemporary ones. "We had a fantastic time at Waterlovers. From the excellent communication during the booking process to the stay itself, everyone was warm and accommodating. The resort is fairly small and had mostly couples or families with teenaged kiddos. An added benefit is that you ultimately get to know both the staff and the guests. "Retro Boutique is a great, small hotel near Diani Beach. I stayed in the deluxe double room on the top floor, and I was amazed at how large my room was. Most if not all the rooms have a balcony, but my room had two balconies. One in the front of the room and one in the back of the room. "This place was so so beautiful! All staff but 1 was wonderful! Very nice and clean! Walkable to the beach, shopping, dining and my mums house! Thought it started free breakfast we did not get! "Boxo might be more suitable for travellers who are looking for very basic place for stay. Keep in mind that it is literally a sea container turned into a tiny room. One thing I was very upset during the breakfast is that only 1 cup of coffee is included (which unfortunately tasted quite flat). In the main restaurant served food way so-so. Quite didn’t enjoyed a food there. However, staff is very friendly and nice. "

"Lovely stay made better by the warm welcome from the reception staff and stunning room with a view of the sea. I was a little apprehensive about my stay from some other reviews from black travellers. I was treated very well by all staff including those in the dining areas. I never once felt as if I was ignored or served slower than guests from Europe. Everyone was very professional and friendly. The food was great with a good gluten free selection at the buffet including baked gluten free goods (made from maize) for breakfast. The chefs were great at preparing separate food as well if asked for that was gluten-free. My room was beautiful although a little worn. The ambience and cleanliness of the property was otherwise stunning. Location also good not far from Ukunda airport. I was also very pleased to find out that Uber also works in Diani so it was easy to transfer to the airport."
