"This is a gem of a hostel, you can't go wrong. We had a 6 bed room to ourselves and, while initially looking a little on the cramped side, it was no bother at all as we mainly spent our time out and about. Spotlessly clean, great en suite shower, firm mattresses (which I thought were great, but guess that's down to personal preference!) The hostel is a 25 min walk from the centre of Cologne (Dom & railway station etc) and located a few mins walk from the buzzing Belgian Quarter, but still...

"We had a lovely family break for the Christmas markets and stayed at the Mercure Hotel. We had a suite which made life with our little one much easier as she slept in a cot in the living area. The room was well equipped as was the bathroom. Staff were very friendly and were able to assist us with anything we needed. Great location for visiting the Christmas markets, would definitely recommend. We didn't eat any meals at the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant or other facilities. "
