"I stayed at Bucholz Downtown Hotel during my recent visit to Cologne for the Christmas Markets. The hotel is very conveniently located near the HBF and near the walking path along the river. The hotel breakfast was very nice...not extensive but a nice way to start you day and served by a friendly staff. The hotel is older and a bit dated but clean with good mechanicals. I am a solo female traveler...the street was a bit dark for me at night when walking alone. Also, the hotel desk is not...

"We visited this hotel for 2 nights in December for a Christmas markets trip with our 2 young children. It is a 10 minute walk from the central station and cathedral and the area is very quiet. We had an early flight and arrived at the hotel very early for check in.
