"What a great stay!! We travelled with our two teenage boys and I wasn’t sure how the hostel would be for us but our quadruple room was amazing. Kids loved the bunk beds. The traditional onsen was fabulous and I used every day. Super close to train/ cable car and the breakfast was very helpful each morning. The review would not be complete without mentioning the amazing staff. They were all so helpful and patient. Went out of their way to help us with dinner recommendations and directions. So...

"It's not really within walking distance to anything, and with everything closing at 6pm there wasnt much to do in the area; the overall experience was alright, but it felt more like a "ryokan themed" inn that was tailored for foreigners so we didnt get that authentic ryokan experience; it was a decent stay nonetheless, the private onsen was good."

"The staff are wonderful and so friendly. The location is a short walk from the Gora station and there’s a lovely coffee shop at the base of the hill the hotel is on. The rooms are plenty spacious and the bar / social area is warmly lit and friendly. The other guests staying were welcoming and chatty but would give you space if needed to. And the onsen!? Amazing.
