"My husband and I loved our stay at the Torel Avantgarde. We were forced to make a last minute reservation after finding that the AriBnB we reserved was horrible and not at all as advertised. Last minute reservations can be tricky when you are also traveling with two small dogs. However, the front desk staff responded to our inquiry immediately and we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. "This place is stunning. Historical palace turned into a twelve-room boutique. If you can, definitely stay here. The staff was outstanding, the attention to details and the comfort made our trip special. The restaurant is the perfect size and the food delicious. Highly recommended."

"Located across the street from the theater, the hotel is ideally located within Porto, allowing for easy walk ability as well as the availability of Bolt and Uber drivers. Multitude of bars, restaurants in the immediate area. Easy to walk to the main train station in Porto.The staff went above and beyond and honored me on my birthday with a sparkling wine, as well as dessert while we were having breakfast in the morning. "The hotel is in a great location! Super close to all the tourist spots. Also right next to São Bento Station. Room was great overall, big king size bed and a good amount of room for luggage. Loved that they had slippers and the hair dryer even had a diffuser for curly hair! There is an italian restaurant downstairs which had amazing food. And the breakfast option was also great with lots of options. My only complaints are the pillows felt cheap and would go flat. The shower would leak water...

"Location, location, location. We had an amazing stay! The hotel is less than 5-minute walk to the Sao Bento train station, historical part of town and ALL local restaurants. The staff is amazing. Everyone is friendly, helpful and very welcoming. We had a minor issue with the room, but it was taken care within a few minutes. If we come back to Porto, we will definitely stay at the Porto Royal Bridges Hotel! "

Friendly, comfortable and accommodating

"Excellent hotel located right on the riverside and perfectly placed to visit all of the sights. I had a terrible journey from the UK due to a bad snow storm which meant I hadn’t slept for 42 hours by the time I arrived at the hotel at 4.30am. The hotel kindly checked me in at that late hour and made the beginning of my vacation a little bit better."
