Be orepared to walk hills and stairs as it is above the historic district with beautiful views of the river and the Ribiera waterfront from outside by the church. "

"We had a very good stay. Parking was a bit of a challenge but we made it work. Very close to restaurants and the river. Could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues due to a steep staircase. Apt was clean and quiet."

"Two families, 12 total, and plenty of space. Property is in a great location, everything within walking distance or a quick Uber away. For those that don’t normally travel with cash, you’ll need to pay the hotel tax upon arrival, now 4/night, age 13. "

"The Yellow House was clean and comfortable. Paulo’s mother was lovely, greeting us and pouring us port to celebrate our arrival. She kindly showed us the basics of our place, and even walked us down the street to show us where to go and eat. Fado Portuguese was so close, great food, wine and live Fado. Be healthy and reasonably active…lots of hills to climb here, but so much to see."

"A truly relaxing property. Huge, beautiful gardens provided the most serene setting for sitting out under the olive trees. A large pool where you could really get your laps in and lemon and lime trees with an abundance of fruit to pick. The house was very traditional. Lots of space and a very quirky ground floor. The pictures on Vrbo don't do it justice. The hosts made us very welcome and were very flexible with checking in early. Response times were great as we got a bit lost trying to find the...

"There were several negatives to the enjoyment of our visit, including:1. There was no one there on May 25 to let us into the property. After a lot of time-wasting we managed to contact "Ribeiro", who in turn called a neighbor with a key to the property.2. The house and its contents were very old and urgently need modernizing. Specifically: - there were too few power points to charge all of our cel phones, tablets and laptops; - the bathroom and cupboard doors in the main suite do not close; -...

"This is the second time I stayed in this wonderful house! It is ideally positioned: quiet typical neighbourhood, small grocery shop and bakery 3min walk, bus to Porto 5min walk, sea/beach 5min walk. Owners are so welcoming, house has everything you could possibly need including Nespresso machine. Rooms very nice and beds very comfortable. "A wonderful and warm welcome and greeting by Leonor. Her English is excellent and made us feel very welcome. Later in the evening, there are a few - possibly homeless people around the street. They do not seem bad though and mind their own business. The Mercator do Balhão is just down the road. Amazing experience and great restaurants on then top level. The lower level has souvenirs and fresh seafood and wine-tasting stations. "
