"The traditional room was remarkable. I love the floor sleeping. The place has a nice public onsen. If you are into manga the owner has a huge collection to check out. Also there is a massage chair in the lobby that I recommend for after your bath. This place is tucked back off of the main road so it is quiet. I highly recommend this for a night or multi night stay if available. "

"Nikko Nara Hotel is most conveniently located, connected to Nara Station. Quaint Starbucks and Tourist Guide Centre next to station. Near to main road leading to town centre, with food streets, temples and past a small lake that eventually leads to Nara Deer Park. The hotel service is immaculate. Beautiful lobby which is well furnished. A small lounge next to the lobby provides hotel guests a place to have complimentary coffee cookies and drinks in the afternoons. "Very stylish hotel. Perfect location. Superb staff doing everything to make your stay in Nara most memorable! Minus: the breakfast costs a fortune! Although very tasty paying 40usd pp is too much. Our room was rather small although luxurious. "

"Hirosawa was very welcoming but make sure you go to the right door! She took us to the room which was warm and looked comfortable, and made tea for us while explaining all about Nara (all the major temples/shopping etc are within a short walk). The ryokan facilities are relatively basic but that is probably the point of staying in one. The shower, however, was amazing and rarely have we slept in such comfortable beds. But the high point was the outstanding Japanese-style breakfast (costs extra)...
