"The room was very well-prepared and the owner is kind and helpful, and seems like she has some interesting stories to tell. I was hoping the bar would be a gathering spot for all the guests, but I never saw it open (appears to be by reservation?) That we were encouraged to return by 9 PM was also a bit onerous (given it is 30 minutes from the city centre), but an understandable part of the guesthouse experience."

"We loved staying here for our one night trip in Kyoto. The room itself is clean and its Japanese style room. Shared bathrooms and showers. It doesn’t have elevator so I wouldn’t recommend to stay here if you have heavy luggages and staying for longer duration. "

I did not like that there is absolutely no way of reaching higher floors without having to carry your luggage & of course I got the top floor & had oversized luggage. I think maybe assigning rooms based on luggage would help. However, I assume this may not be possible due to specific room types on specific floors (ie; two beds rooms on floor 2 & single beds in room 3) but other...
