"The swimming area was very good, clean and staff approachable. The evening meal was another matter. I am diagnosed coeliac and when l told them one waitress thought gluten free and coeliac were two different intolerances. When the manager was told , he bought me pages and pages of listings for me to check whether what l was ordering was g/f. Not very helpful! However breakfast was more understanding, knowledgeable and helpful. One person in every 100 according to the BBC this very morning are coeliac and small cafes and larger chains are now all geared up with g/f listed on menus, it’s about time Best Western got up to date with gluten free as well or someone could be very ill with the restaurant staff lack of knowledge about intolerances. "

"Stay at hotel great. Brilliant with dogs! Reception and staff generally extremely helpful. Sadly cannot say same for Hotels.com. Booked room with note I had two dogs. Contacted some time later bye Hotels.com to say I couldn't have dogs in that room and they apparently couldn't get Stratton House to agree to move me to a dog friendly room. ie I had to lose my deposit. Called Stratton House directly myself and they moved me with no issue at all and didn't charge me to move rooms. Would visit Stratton House again but never use Hotels. com again!"

"We’ve just arrived home from a one night stay and we’re very impressed with this hotel. This is a quintessential British old fashioned luxury hotel. The rooms are all individual and ours was very large with a wonderful view of Cheltenham racecourse. The oak panelled dining room, gave a feeling of grandeur without being stuffy and the food and serving staff were excellent both at dinner and breakfast. The hotel grounds are magnificent and we made use of the heated outdoor pool and spa, which was clean and not too busy. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish now we had booked for longer."

"We had a great stay here over the weekend. Couldn’t really fault anything at all? Think the breakfast is a little over priced though at £17.00 each and if we started again certainly wouldn’t opt for this inclusion."

"A great base for a weekend stay in Cirencester. The hotel is in the middle of town so a great location to explore the town & surrounding areas. The hotel is lovely & rooms well equipped & very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, a great selection of options on offer, everything was delicious. Would stay again if visiting this area. "
