"Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It was my first experience at a ryokan. Mainly chose this place because it is reasonably priced with private onsen and shower. The ryokan has both public and 3 private onsen. The private onsen goes by a simple manual reservation system by writing your name on the whiteboard outside the onsen if the onsen is not available. As the ryokan is not very big, there are not too many guests, it isn’t hard to book the private onsen. There is a sink and toilet in the room....

"A great base to visit the snow monkeys. A beautiful and traditional onsen. The breakfast and dinner was served by older ladies that did not necessarily speak English but definitely kept trying to make it an amazing experience each time. The variety of the served food was just overwhelming. So delicious and always something freshly cooked right at your table. An opportunity to stay at traditional Japanese tatami room is a memorable experience. Free pick up from the railway station. "

"We loved this hotel! It was the perfect place to explore the snow monkey park and also experience the local Onsen towns, a must do in Japan. The room was super spacious and cosy, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, adding plenty of extra touches such as warm matcha on arrival and teas and juices for the road when we checked out pre-breakfast. "Onsen is the highlight, we booked for the western room but somehow we got the ryokan type which is a bit smaller and the private bathroom is tiny. My recommendation for breakfast is Japanese as the Western one, you will get just a fried egg, a ham and two breads. (Free coffee for Western, 400 yen for Japanese) So far, the hotel is nice, the owner family is so kind, helpful, and lovely, we had a good time there 😊 "
