Stay for the week, there is plenty to do around Arenal, do not spend hours driving that you could spend listening to the howler monkeys, watching the toucans every morning, or enjoying the oropendola living their day. "I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Monteverde—especially if you have a car. This family-run B&B (hosted by a wonderful husband and wife) offers a beautiful property with acres of land to explore, giving off a charming British countryside vibe. The only downside is that it’s about a 25-minute walk to downtown, but the owners can arrange a taxi for around $10-$12. Despite this, the peaceful and tranquil environment makes it worth it. "There was no communication between staff and guest because the staff "acted" like they couldnt speak english and when i used a spanish app they acted like they had no clue until they needed my money then suddenly they understood what i said and english. Constant noise and animals. Pool sucks too. They provide a home cooked breakfast which was really good so thats why they get 1 star but nothing else."

"The shower's hot water is not strong enough, so you need to turn the water volume way down to have a decent temperature shower. The room sound insulation is very poor and you can easily hear the tv from next room. The room service is ok, and the bed was not set every day."

"Dirty hostel. Disrty pillow cases, musty rooms, slippery grated floors outsude to get in, no handicap entrances, very limited breakfast hours of 1.5 hours 6:20am-7:30am only. Flught was delayed in NYC due to flooding so we didn't get there until 2 days later and no one was on the premises- had ro go next door to another hotel to get someone to call that bed and breakfast. "

"Fantastic hosts who were incredibly helpful for suggestions in the area and even helped me troubleshoot some conflicting information between a ticket I had booked and the hours a national park said it was open! The room was sparkling clean, spacious, comfortable, and with an INCREDIBLE view! Everything in the room worked and had clear instructions on how to use it. The kitchen was accessible and a little restaurant area was a good spot to meet fellow travelers in the evenings /...

"I was thinking just a room with the breakfast included option for two people but it turned out they have a full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The host and her daughter were super friendly and willing to help us out. They recommended a good local restaurants and our stay was very comfortable. It’s a nice location too. Close to the downtown but still very quiet. "
