"What a great immersive experience to have a little house for our stay in Kyoto, so close to many temples and other areas of interest. The house was cozy and warm in the cold weeks of winter and the large bath and zen garden were a nice touch."

"The property looks exactly like the photos on the website, which is a nice little surprise. Very nice little traditional Japanese house. Location is great and you can walk the Gion neighbourhood whenever you like. You can walk to Yasaka Jinja and Shijo easily as well. The bus stop is only 100m away and Ninenzaka & Sannenzaka are only a few stops away. There is also a direct bus to Kinkakuji if you want to visit it. A couple of issues with the property. First, the check-in location is about 5km...

"The house was everything i wanted but not so accesible to the train station, closer to the bus station but kinda hard to figure bus rides for me. I would stay here again esp if i was with a group, it makes tou really fell like youre in Kyoto, my favorite part is the ofuro, the bath on its own is so great and the jap garden."

"This charming inn is an excellent accommodation for families. With two bedrooms, our family of five enjoyed a comfortable and spacious stay. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of a second-floor bathroom, which meant we needed to descend to the ground floor each time we required restroom facilities. Despite this small drawback, the inn was otherwise exceptional and met all our needs perfectly."

"The biggest con with this stay was that there was air conditionning only in one of the two bedrooms (with the one unequipped being on the sunny side of the house, so it warmed up very quickly). This forced our group to sleep with the bedroom doors open since the temperature in the 2nd bedroom quickly became insufferable. Otherwise, the apartment has a nice japanese feel. (We also had an issue with the adress that was given and ended up far from the airbnb using google maps), so we would...

"It was a perfect place for us. We walked all around kiyomizu to kawaramachi area. They had everything we needed in the house. The only wish was to have thicker softer mattress on tatami futons next time. :) Thank you."

"We stayed for a few nights with another family, 9 of us total. The beds were comfortable and it was so nice to have 3 bathrooms. House is stocked with tea and coffee. Is walking distance to shops and restaurants and it was easy to hail a cab when needed! "

"If you are staying in the Gion area of Kyoto this hotel is a perfect choice. It was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Japan. Yasakahan is perfectly situated in the heart of Gion. Everything is walkable. The facilities are excellent - the foot bath and shower/spa is great. Absolutely loved the decor. You really felt like this was your little piece of Kyoto for a few days. "

"Highly recommend this place to stay in Kyoto, so close to Gion, wonderful restaurants, and transport. The accommodation is so spacious, well equipped, clean and has a wonderful feel with an amazing wooden bath. Special thanks to Yui who works the front desk and the Cafe. She was wonderful, so friendly, helpful and welcoming to us. It's an amazing place and we would definitely return next time. "

"Very close to train stations. Was more than enough room for us with a family with a 1 and 4 year old. Especially like having the washer/dryer in the room and ability to cook. Nespresso machine was nice to have as well. Staff are all very friendly and professional - very kind to our kids. The noise from the street outside can be heard at times, but it didn't disrupt our sleep at all. We would stay again. "

"À hidden gem of a hotel in Kyoto. I always stay here when I return to Kyoto. A beautiful, well-appointed entrance, and as you pass through the door… fragrances and music that inspired Zen, a modern, uncluttered decor with a beautiful marriage of wood in contemporary architecture, a small bakery in the entrance area where the you can buy a variety of breads baked on site and a courteous welcome as we are used to in Japan. It is obvious that the design team had all their talent and heart at work. The attention to detail to create a near-perfect atmosphere for all the senses…yes, all the senses…was very evident. From the fragrances of the soaps, to the faucets in the shower, the creative work was evident there. The well-equipped restaurant for dinner and my best breakfast in a hotel to date, the bread bar filled with products cooked on site. In addition, a roof terrace on the 6th floor with bar, sofas, heaters and warm blankets in the evening when the temperature was approaching zero. "
