"Nov 2024 - This is a very old pub, persevered very well and in keeping with it's original historic 656 year old design. Great food and drink selection and wonderful staff. With that in mind, it is a pub, and therefore very noisy until around 12am later at weekends. As it's old it's also very creaky, so expect to here residents walking to and from the bathroom / toilets. The rooms are what you'd expect in keeping with an old building and a little cold in winter. "Stayed in room 1, which is an en-suite double, with an additional single sofa bed. Room was clean and comfortable. Some signs of wear and tear, but this didn’t affect my stay. Wi-Fi is almost nonexistent in the rooms, but is ok in the bar/restaurant. Will definitely stay here again when in the area."
