Lovely area, plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes, art galleries, etc. Extra activities on each week during summer, plenty of walks...

"We spent a week in May in Cutlar’s Lodge. The weather overall was kind which gave the estate something of an Edwardian summer feeling. Absolutely beautiful with a delicious hint of eccentricity! The cottage itself is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The location, as indicated, is exquisite and so peaceful. "The cottage was amazing and very well equipped, spotlessly clean and modern but very comfortable, with a very welcome selection of treats waiting for us. We know the area well so it was the perfect location for us to do a bit more discovering of Dumfries and Galloway. Would certainly recommend the cottage and we hope to get there again."
