"Like a Downton Abbey experience. A grand palacios hotel. Although large, it felt warm, homely and welcoming. Upgraded to a suite which was just wonderful. So comfortable, spacious yet again a homely feel. Throughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We were able to secure our luggage and explore York ahead of checking in . They kindly kept our luggage safely after checking out also so again we could enjoy our ambling through the streets of York. Great choices for breakfast,.Pet friendly also. This is a beautiful hotel well worth the stay."

"As always we had a wonderful stay, our room was on the 11th floor with amazing views of the city. Our check-in was with Mae and she was very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Only one negative, the pillows are not good. Overall a lovely stay."
