Been using Expedia since my military service days in the early 2000's and first time i have an issue with my stay.
My flight was arriving at 6am, therefore, i reached out to the property to request an early check-in. I anticipated the need for it after an 18hr commute with a pregnant wife, a five year old and a 73 year old. I was charged $150 for an early check-in, arrived early and my room was still occupied by previous renter. When asked for help at the front desk. They informed me that i was booked in a private unit and they had nothing to do with those units. When spoke managing agent she claimed she didnt know what was happening but ended up staging me in a temporary unit. When my room was finally ready at about 2pm, i noticed it had two full size beds but NO sofa bed like my booking showed i was supposed to get. When i asked the agent about a refund of my early check-in fee because i was not able to use the unit early and because the wasn't a sofabed, she said she was going to reach out to the owner and manager about it. She called back to ask if i left the "staging unit" as i found it, told her yes, with the exception of the trash in the bathroom because we all used it, she asked if i could go back and empty the trash can so they didnt have to pay a cleaning person to do so since the room was already cleaned. I asked about my refund again, the woman said if i dont empty the trash can she wont work on my refund.
