"Hulili farm was a perfect home base during our week-long visit to the big island. We enjoyed the super-comfy bed in the ginger cottage - gorgeous grounds and peaceful ocean view. Bonus - fresh avocados from the tree right outside the cottage! The farm location on the rainforest eastern side of the island worked well for us - a 30 min drive to Hilo, and hour to Volcano National park, and one hour to the Mauna Kea visitor center. "

"The accommodation was perfect for just me, or if I had my wife with me. Large bed, large closet, spacious bathroom, and a good-sized common area. I was greeted with a handwritten note with some homemade banana bread ( I think), a cluster of bananas, a couple of ripe papaya, and a few oranges. The private lanai was peaceful, and the grounds were lovely. The hosts are on site, but other than an initial hello when I arrived, I did not see or hear from them the entire stay. "Put this review off for awhile intending to dismiss it but was reminded again so here goes. Large home in convenient location, with all the necessities. Just a few things that would be better is if screens/windows were repaired or replaced so they can be opened to allow airflow and less use of a/c. Especially in the upstairs bathroom. We couldn’t figure out where the outside stairs light was, which would have been helpful as it was quite dark when getting back at night. Felt a little sheepish...
