"This has to be one of the most beautiful properties on the island! The lobby is stunning, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the grounds are beautiful! It is great for families with children, but equally as great for adults without kids. There are many activities that you can do. It is very upscale; but still relaxed and has a lot of island feel to it. If you are active, this is a great place as there are countless water activities already included in the resort fee, and many walkable trails to explore the coast. 12/10."

"This property is situated in the main area of Kona. Easy walk to waterfront restaurants and shops. The bar/restaurant opens at 6:30 am and stays open throughout the day and night. Great views of the ocean!"

"We stayed here for 8 nights while in Hawaii to get married and honeymoon. The OUTRIGGER was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Room was large, had a nice view, grounds were well maintained with trails, beautiful flowers, and two pools. Would not hesitate to stay here again. - hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and accommodated everything we needed. They also treated us very well as newlyweds and made us feel special. Cindy went above and beyond on this. - pool bar was reasonable and Kevin was great - the gift shop was reasonably priced and good service - the PIKO restaurant is another story. The only thing worse than the WAY overpriced, mediocre food was the dismissive, grumpy, hostile staff working there. Eat at the pool bar or go offsite. - be aware that on top of what you’ve already paid and/or the advertised price they are going to charge you $35/day as a “resort fee” plus $30/day for parking plus a variety of taxes. Worked out to about an additional $80/day in unexpected fees on top of the advertised room rates. - overall wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. And aside from restaurant staff, all other staff were just exceptional and above and beyond, and made for a wonderful honeymoon. - while on the island we explored in both directions, and the OUTRIGGER seems perfectly placed to check out all the highlights."
