"On the whole this was a beautiful hotel and staff were mostly lovely. Shockingly, we did experience an extraordinarily rude waiter on the first morning - I’ve never experienced anything like it - fortunately other staff were lovely. Also when we arrived, there was a bit of a delay and we were asked to wait - we were offered complimentary drinks- a nice gesture but they took an age to arrive and we had to chase it up - not a great first impression."

We arrived very early, and they were more than helpful and accommodating, even arranged an early check-in, coffees delivered when we didn’t have the correct change for their coffee maker, beautiful lounge with small library of travel and other books. "A boutique hotel unique and quirky. Each room decorated in the style and era of a Dutch nobleman. The lighting in the room is subdued presumably as it would have been back in the day. The bed is very comfortable. The pillows are not! The mini bar and coffee machine are hidden in draws under the bed that we only discovered several days in. "Great Hotel just adjacent to Leidseplein. Room ok size, very comfortable bed , excellent powerful shower, view was of another hotel breakfast room. Bit of noise bleed from other rooms, doors closing etc…. But not dreadful. Really nicely decorated and very clear Front of house staff very helpful. Breakfast basic, not worth the money and the honesty bar/fridge was locked up a bit early for a late evening night cap. Over all good stay and I’d stay again. "
