"This really is a 'leading hotel of the world'. I've been privileged enough to stay in some top hotels around the world and this was one of my favourites. Pristine inside and out. The pool area is stunning. Great bars and dining options. I liked the Galaxia Sky Bar which has fantastic views. Within a very short walk there are some nice restaurants and bars around the hotel. "Great location, walking distance to everything. Very good breakfast buffet. Rooms are nice but we had issues with our bathtub. Our room could have used a little love considering it's a 5 star hotel. Jacuzzi and sauna room could use some love as well. The overall look of the interior is dark. Considering the low ceilings, it does not help. "Excellent boutique hotel with very good food in an excellent location in Funchal with easy access to restaurants and bars. The decor was great. The only small criticisms are that there is nowhere to put clothes (drawers or wardrobes) in the room and some of the breakfast servers were a slow at serving, otherwise excellent."

"We loved staying at this hotel. The food was wonderful and the swimming pools were great. I also had a very relaxing massage in the spa. It was a brilliant experience to swim in the nearby lava pools ! We had a wonderful balcony room with sea view. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel."

"A very welcoming hotel with friendly and helpful staff . All areas are spotless and rooms spacious and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and there is one heated pool . Very much appreciated in the winter months ! The hotel is in a convenient position with a short downward walk into Funchal and also benefits from certain areas within The Savoy Palace . Breakfasts delicious .. I could not fault this hotel and would definitely recommend. We will return ! "

"1. The breakfast is excellent. 2. The hotel is nice, well mantained and in a good location. 3. It has a nice view, if you are in floor 8 and under you can't see the sunrise, but you can see the sunset which is superb. 4. the room was ok - perhaps adding an airfreshener or something to make the room fresher and smeeling nicer would be great. Beds are alright, and the bedroom is well equipped. The down side: 5. The parking: it said €5 per day in both leaftlet and website and we were charged...

"Fantastic hotel in a great location that was close to harbour, shops and restaurants. Located in a quiet road. Lovely, well equipped room and excellent breakfast. New Year’s celebrations were outstanding and we especially enjoyed being able to view the fireworks on the roof garden, with free drinks and food provided. All of this was enhanced by a wonderful staff team. A great stay."

"I loved it! I had a sea view and as expected the sunset was amazing from any angle of the hotel. I enjoyed the breakfast served here. The front desk staff were very professional & helpful. The location it's conveniently (15-minutes away from Funchal) if you decide not to rent a car since public transportation is reliable in the area, literally there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel.... Well recommended. "

" Nicely situated on the sea front with rooms looking out onto the bathing pools below. The hotel has extra parking a few minutes walk away accessible with the room card. The staff were all friendly and helpful and breakfast was very nice with a good selection but seemed to be lacking a toaster. The room was comfortable and well maintained but smaller than we thought and was rather musty on arrival which cleared quickly once the windows were opened. We spent just a few nights here and I’m not sure if there was enough to do beyond that even though we had a car, very limited eating options in the resort but the restaurant at the hotel was very good. The resort lacked any nice little bars to stroll out to in the evening. Overall a nice short stay. "

Great hotel - faultless

"Honestly, I thought this hotel was great. I enjoyed my room: clean, with a great shower and it had the benefit of a fridge and a balcony with sea-view. The daily room service was also appreciated. The hotel's team members were friendly and efficient. It had a decent in-house restaurant, but there was also the option of walking for no longer than 10 minutes to get to other restaurants. Good sized pool(s) with plenty of seating. "
