"There are 4 hotels in the chain. This was our first visit to Maderia and we found the accomodation clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff were nice and friendly and the breakfast was good. Air conditioning stays on when you go out (despite removing the card key) which gives a nice cool room to return to. Pool is small and can be a little busy high season. Not too far out from the town centre (took us about a 20 minute walk each way). In all very good indeed. Recommended for a nice stay."

"From checking in to dining to nightly entertainment. This resort is above our expectations. The staff at the front desk just couldn’t do enough To make sure our stay was everything we wanted. The dining and wait staff were beyond accommodative to any needs. Friendly, kind and respectful. Helen at the dining runs a great staff, it was so great to see a head staff having fun with everyone. So much respect show amongst staff. And, yes the food was absolutely great. Every meal had so much to choose from. Pestana Royal exceeded our expectations! Thank you for making our vacation more than we could have imagined."

A spacious one bedroom apartment with gym, infinity pool, sea views, WiFi

Great accommodation

"Place was fabulous. Easy communication with natasha. Great area close to bars and restaurants and shops. Only small alterations with the keys. Only one set. You do need 2 sets of keys. Especially when checking out and someone else was picking you up. The key drop box needs to be up the main gate. Otherwise what a lovely experience. Views were outstanding. Thankyou natasha fab property."

Pestana Carlton Madeira Ocean Resort Hotel

"The hotel is in a great location, with a walkable area and a lot of restaurants around it. We stayed in a room with pool view and were actually able to walk out the room and go straight to the pool. There also was an ocean view from our room, although we never got down to the beach. The staff was friendly and all the amenities were fine. Free parking was limited, especially since it was also being used by the locals. "
