"We stayed two nights in a Japanese room with private open-air bath. It was fantastic. The room was clean, modern and had everything we needed. Words cannot describe the private open air bath which we used as much as possible. We had dinner and breakfast included - these meals may be challenging for western tastes but if you're feeling adventurous, go for it! Unfortunately the public bath was closed when we visited so I cannot comment on this."

Luggage drop off before check-in and then check-in itself was seamless (we arrived early and we just followed the instructions at the front entrance to label our bags and place inside the doors, and when we came back the bags were already in our room). "This Ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) was an incredible experience. Some of the best service I’ve ever encountered and the private onsen was a luxurious experience. The food was excellent with a dozen dishes or more at each meal although it’s worth noting that these are traditional Japanese meals so very fish and pickle forward and lots of food that some Americans and westernersmight not be used to. One of the most luxurious experiences I’ve ever had. "

"We had the most incredible stay here while visiting Hakone. The location is ideal: a 2 min walk from the main train station and right on the river. Waking up to the sound/view of the river is just magical. The team working here is incredibly nice, hospitable and accommodating. We did the half board and the food was delicious and varied.
