"Had a lovely mother & daughter break at this lovely beach house. A great base for our holiday. My only criticism- nothing to do with the accommodation- but the pub food wasn’t that great. We had to go further afield."

"An escape amongst nature. Very quiet , apart from the birdsong beautiful to hear. Cottage was very well appointed , cosy and comfortable. Directions were very clear, even though the cottage was well out of the way. Every morning we saw the hares playing in the fields, we also made the most of the walks around the farmland. A beautiful place to recharge the batteries , while still not far from lots of places to visit, Castle Howard was very close by."

"Easy check in, we made simple dinners both evenings of our stay and had all needed kitchen items - very clean. Very easy walk into the walls and York Minster. As is clearly noted in the listing, the only toilet is on ground floor, and all beds are up some typically steep Victorian stairs."

"We had such a lovely 2 night stay here! The lodge was in pristine condition, with all necessities like tea, coffee, milk. The hot tub was ready for us to get in. There were plenty of useful extras like iron, travel cot, hairdryers, plenty of toilet rolls. There was an en-suite with shower and a family bathroom too. "A lovely little property, tucked out of the way 15 minutes walk from one of the gates to the city of York. We parked the car and then left it there. There were local buses but we didn't feel the need to use them. A very modern downstairs bathroom. The stairs were narrow but were aware of this in the comprehensive details.
