"Staying here is kind of like having your own nature preserve. Short trails, lots of birds (including the eponymous toucans)…Hosts were great, helped with booking adventures and moved us into another unit when there was a power outage. Place is small, our family of four was a bit cramped, but there’s lots of nice outdoor space. Would stay again…"

"This was the perfect spot for five of us (3 adults & 2 teens) to stay while we were on vacation in the area. It would be a little crowded for 8 adults but it was so cute and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a nice break at the end of the day and the eating area was so cute. "My family recently stayed there for 2 nights. I have to say the view is unbelievable gorgeous!! The house does feel like standing in the sky from the mountain. All you can see out of the window is the surrounding mountains, the clouds moving and shadows fall into the mountain. Birds in the sky. Sunset is gorgeous! All my family, including two kids at age 5 and 7, totally enjoyed it. Neighbor's dog is a cute plus! "

"My husband and I had a wonderful 3 night stay in this modern and private villa. It was located close to the town of La Fortuna and close to so many attractions. We had our morning coffee outside where i saw toucans flying from tree to tree. On a walk in the neighborhood, we saw a sloth in a tree scratchibg himself! " I’m very picky about cleanliness so I chose this cabin because I could see while blankets & towels in the pictures & they didn’t disappoint me! All was perfectly clean & organized The mattress & pillows were very comfortable. Someone said it was hard to locate the place but just following Waze or Google maps we made it to their parking with no problem. "What a beautiful, peaceful finca! Everything was lovely during our stay. Fresh flowers greeted us, and all the main things one would need for cooking were there: coffee machine, pots/pans, silverware. The washing machine and clothesline worked for us. The best part of this stay are the hosts. Don Eddy took us on a lovely horseback tour of the farm, where we sampled many fruits, sugar cane, cacao. We even saw a sloth and a howler monkey. The water buffalo, Solomon, is a cutie and very friendly....

"This place was amazing! Perfect size for two people. King size bed was comfortable. Amazing Views of lake and volcano. Grill and hot tub did not work. That is only reason we are rating a 4. "The good, the property was clean, beautiful, small and quaint (but that’s what we wanted), communication from the host was great. The only bad thing was that the location was a little different than what shows on the listing, about a 15-20 minute drive outside of where the listing shows. "The place is great for 4 people, others would have to sleep in living room and table only sits 4. First night I got little sleep because of extreme wind noise, but depends on weather conditions. There is no AC so place gets very hot during the day. Views are amazing!"

"My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights, and the property was excellent! The cabin was clean, with a beautiul view of this little aritificial pond that had ducks and fish in it. We were only a 5 minute drive from La Fortuna for groceries, and any time we communicated with Marco, we received a prompt response."

"Everything was perfect. The only thing I would like to mention is that the receptionist only recommended their transportation when we wanted to head out to town instead of giving us the option between their transportation and Uber. Their transportation fee was $28 plus tax and Uber was $7. Other than that, this is a really great resort. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the views are AMAZING! This is a lovely place. Thank you Ely, you were always so kind. Until next time, Pura Vida"

Pura Vita - wonderful hotel

"Absolutely beautiful hotel! We spent three nights and booked all of our tours and drivers through the hotel and everything was wonderful. All of our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the spas are lovely. We ate in all three restaurants and enjoyed all of our meals and the breakfast buffet had many choices. Costa Rican coffee is delicious and the service was outstanding. The room was very nice with a private patio where I could watch the birds each morning. The air conditioning cooled the room to a nice temperature. We had plenty of time to relax and go on adventures. I highly recommend this hotel. Pura vita! "

"I really loved this place and already want to return. Two days is not enough time! It is rustic, like glamping accommodations but if you’re into health, authenticity, and sustainability, it’s such a dreamy, magical place. I loved the horse riding and farm tour. Make time for them. The farm tour is thorough! We wished we could make the cheese and soap but ran out of time to take those classes. The food was so great—the tomatoes taste like tomatoes! The WiFi is spotty in the cabin & frankly it helped my mental health! The front desk and staff are so kind and real people who truly connect with you. "

"Very welcoming check in process, very clean, beautiful grounds, beautiful views of volcano and surrounding, thermal pools were really nice. Restaurant had great food. Pricey but you get what you pay for. "
