"We had a fabulous stay at the Gainsborough. The whole experience from start to finish was perfect, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy. "Excellent location directly opposite the main train station. All major attractions are walkable. All staff were pleasant and efficient. Tea & coffee making and biscuits were great. A modern bathroom with excellent water pressure. Howe er the bed was a double bed with an uncomfortable old fashioned mattress. The restaurant was limited in its ability to handle all residents staying at the hotel. For example registering at 3 pm resulted in breakfast the following day being already booked out. Going...

"Lovely old hotel in the midst of a major renovation. We were booked into a newly renovated room which was nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. There was some noise from renovations on weekdays but it was not particularly bothersome. The location is great - essentially equidistant between the Abbey and Roman Baths and the Circus and Royal Crescent. Buffet breakfast was very good and staff was inviting and helpful.
