"We had a brilliant 1 night stay here on a weekend. The room we stayed in was fantastic,good size and had everything we needed,I wish we had stayed longer! The breakfast was already in the room which I actually really enjoyed,I couldn't believe the choice available,there was yoghurts,fruit,granola,a fresh loaf,porridge,cereal,milk,teas,coffee,hot chocolate, even some britvic orange juice. "Lovely four night stay at this wonderful guest house in Matlock Bath. Paula and Shaun were excellent hosts: greeted us on arrival, fed us well and shared local knowledge of things to do, where to walk and places to eat etc etc. We would definitely recommend. "

"Stayed here for 2 night's in June and loved it, the place is warm and welcoming, the bed was massive and comfy with plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. Shower was easy to use and very clean, definitely stay here again. Breakfast was freshly cooked and cooked how you like it, the host was friendly and veey helpful."

"The hotel is very tastefully decorated and modern the staff very helpful and friendly the food excellent and cost was very reasonable. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was right at the front off the hotel it did have modern double glazed windows but they were useless the traffic outside never stopped until after midnight and restarted around 4 am.I am quite a heavy sleeper but this had to be the worst night’s sleep I’ve experienced at a hotel, the bed looked lovely but we couldn’t turn over...

"My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of December in the Warren room and it was so comfortable! Ziz was the perfect host, what a lovely place the Sheriff Lodge is, close to town and 5 mins from a lovely nearby pub for an evening meal. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice, the homemade granola topped with fruit was the best! Overall a wonderful place to stay and we will return in the summer. "I cannot recommend Marehay hall Farm and host Sharon highly enough. All of the the positive descriptions reviewing a B&B apply here. Whatever your expectations are they will surely be met and exceeded. If you are looking for a quiet oasis to relax and retreat from the hustle of daily life, this is it. The gardens are work in progress and offer the potential to make this a much saught after retreat location. Would we come back. Without a doubt! "

"This was a lovely home with gracious and helpful hosts, off-street parking and a fabulous garden right next door to a historic 14th century Norman church. Alistair gave us lots of very helpful information about beautiful local walks, along with excellent maps and detailed instructions. The village is great with several nice places to eat (again Tricia and Alistair gave us excellent advice), and a local bakery which will make you a packed lunch for your walks.
