We booked this hotel because it claimed to be "Dog Friendly" We travelled over 6 hours from Cornwall for 40th birthday party and the hotel left my partner in tears.
Having struggled from the "local" car park with our luggage and dogs (I am disabled), we entered Reception we did not get a "welcome to our hotel" or "how was your journey?", we got "this is our dog policy".
It turns out that not only are they rude, but they are certainly not "dog friendly." We were told that for a supplement of £30 per dog per night, we would not be staying in the "Superior" room I booked, we could not take the dogs into the bar and we could not leave the dogs in the room unattended.
Whilst we understand (but do not agree with not taking dogs in the restaurant - most Cornwall establishments welcome dogs), we would expect to be able to take them into the bar to be able to eat.
We were therefore informed we had spent £180 £60 for a hotel at which we could not use the facilities.
We decided (or were told) to order Room Service. 45 minutes later, we received a cold £13 pizza which was most likely £1.99 from Tesco and a green salad that was so wilted it must have been left on the side for hours, the tomatoes had started to decay. Instead of the Burrata salad, we received a chicken salad. The chicken was so hard it made a clinking sound on the side of the plate when tapped (I have a video of it), no plates, and a bottle of wine with no corkscrew. We were overcharged and still no refund.
