"We really enjoyed this vintage pub with cosy, modern rooms upstairs in Robin Hood’s backyard. Taking daughter to uni in Nottingham so this was an ideal stop. The kitchen was closing at 8 so we arrived just in time to grab a tasty bite from extensive menu. A bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich on crusty bread was washed down with a couple of draught beers while watching the Champions League along with the bar’s friendly lab. "This is a pub with an incredible range of cask beers (10) mostly from the Lincoln Green Brewery. The 3 I try ed were excellent. The hotel (pub) has a faded grandeur feel and is basic. This suits me down to the ground. They do not do breakfast so we went to Tesco opposite which has a good cafe. The ensuite room was clean and tidy and met our needs well. It is up two flights of stairs though, no lift, and is a rabbit warren. Parking is on street. Overall I liked it but posh it is not."
