"An excellent repeat stay for us -- the pool facilities are superb, rooms have good air conditioning and breakfast is good (although patience may be required to have the order delivered correctly). Buxton itself is very nice, too. Convenient paid parking (4 hour) nearby."

"We had a small double including a lovely breakfast which was very good value. Lovely pool. Easy free parking. Convenient for dropping son at university and visiting relatives.The hotel was old and had character, but was well maintained. Would be more eco-friendly to only change towels if left on the floor and to provide soap dispensers rather than little individual plastic bottles. "

"Staff were helpful and great to talk to, and parking was convenient. Actual hotel is a bit of a walk from town centre, so bear that in mind (there is a bus stop within a 5min walk). On the other hand the area was nice and quiet (although I did stay outside of the academic year). Also this hotel has communal kitchens on each floor where you can cook and store leftovers, but there is no restaurant, although the Halifax Hall nearby does if you need a meal."

"Its very convenient for the bus and train station but in a very poor part of the city with lots of homeless sleeping rough outside which makes it a bit scary walking too and from the hotel. The hotel inside is lovely and has all mod cons."

"Really odd that the plug points nearest to the bed were round/foreign and incompatible with uk plugs! Not sure why this is but it is incompatible for people who use a CPAP machine at night and a little odd all round. The hotel staff did find a workaround but this left an electric cable as a tripping hazard across the end of my bed. The hotel was great value for the price but reflective of being on the edge of a retail park. Could be noisy as the centre is really active but as long as you know...

"I made a reservation instead of my friend. He changed his plan and we changed his reservation (dates) via expedia staff but we learned that Expedia forgot to notify the hotel of the new reservation. Despite this, the hotel staff was very helpfull"

"Cozy room, facilities. Could do with some privacy to windows not having any net curtains. Meant having to keep curtains closed and lights on when getting dressed so not to be exposed to people using the car park. "
