"Staff were really friendly but there was no property owned parking so had to park across the road in a public car park. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality linen. We were given a special access room on the ground floor but we were looking forward to a bath in the room which is what I thought we had booked but not a major issue but if you are booking you may want to make them aware if you want a bath rather than wet room. "

Location is great and the views to the beach lovely (plus beach was easy walking distance). Room was basic but had everything needed. "Lovely room. We were in Thyme. Small but very comfortable for a couple of nights. Very handy for Beamish museum. Fabulous food in restaurant both evenings and breakfast in the conservatory was also excellent. Lovely beer garden with the most amazing hanging baskets I have ever seen. Little shed areas with heaters made it great to chill after dinner. All staff encountered were great. If I had to give a negative I would say I wish could have turned off the outside light over the door as it was...

Although property is old fashioned, my single room, with en suite was very clean and bed was comfortable The breakfast cerea,l yogurt etc was an unexpected bonus. Kettle, microwave and fridge in room. Member of staff on arrival friendly and helpful. I couldn’t get the tv to find any chanels, but not there long enough to enquire about it. Could do with a chair, but overall exactly what i wanted Thank you"

"The check-in process was confusing as I didn’t know I had to go to the Holiday Inn. Maybe that’s on me as the information could’ve been in an email. However, James at the Holiday Inn got me checked in quickly and was very kind in the process. The apartment suited our needs and we enjoyed our stay. The only thing I can recommend is a fresh coat of paint and some other minor decor changes to spruce the place up a bit. "
