"This hotel is closed we were rebooked at the Europa Gatwick hotel a sister hotel connected with the Britannia Hotel chain. On the out side it looked ok check in was fine and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The twin room i booked was pretty spartan, lacking in pillows, one per guest, the beds were absolutely atrocious one could feel the springs thru the mattress and the bed creaked something chronic, there was also a very strange nude picture of a women on the wall over the bed...

"Located in a safe area of town close to dining, coffee and shopping. Walkable to bus and train stations, bus stops close by if you prefer. Hotel is lovely. Reception is up a few steps if mobility is an issue. Staff is friendly and always looking to improve your stay. Bar, lounge and restaurant are modern. Their cream tea was amazing and reasonably priced. We stayed in a triple. The room was lovely. Beds were comfortable, bathroom had towel warmer and towels were luxurious. Shower had good water...

"For $1,000/night, there are a few things I would expect to receive, such as valet parking, fully trained staff and maybe an update to very tired room decor. Everyone was very friendly, our dinner at The Latymer was sublime, the spa facilities are quite nice, but the whole place is in dire need of a facelift and a comprehensive staff training..."
